Belarus, Russia’s Ryazan Oblast agree on joint drone development

Belarus and Ryazan Oblast of Russia will jointly develop unmanned aerial vehicles, Governor of Ryazan Oblast Pavel Malkov said during his talks with Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Aleksandr Rogozhnik in Ryazan on 29 October, BelTA has learned.

Recently an agreement on partnership has been signed between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Aerospace Innovation Valley, established in Ryazan on the instruction of the Russian president. "We will work together on the development of unmanned aerial vehicles, including for agriculture. We will also cooperate in information technology, radio electronics, biomedicine. In general, we have a lot of plans and proposals for promising projects," Pavel Malkov said.

"We seek to develop international industrial clusters related to drones manufacturing, machine tool engineering, radio electronics and others. We will be grateful for Belarus' assistance in these projects," he added.

Ambassador Aleksandr Rogozhnik noted that the mutual trade between Belarus and Ryazan Oblast is growing at a good pace in high-tech products, in particular, microelectronics. “This is good news because the transition to high-tech goods is a brand new level of trade,” he pointed out.
