Belarus’ foreign trade up by 3.2% up in H1 2024
In January-June 2024 Belarus’ foreign trade in merchandise and services ran a surplus of $100 millllion as against the deficit of $138 million in the same period of last year, BelTA learned from the statistics data released by the website of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).
Merchandise export grew faster than import. In June 2024, the deficit of merchandise foreign trade decreased by $227 million over May 2024. In general, in H1 2024, the foreign trade had a deficit of $1.5 billion, with merchandise exports amounting to $19.5 billion and imports - $20.9 billion.
The surplus of foreign trade in services totaled $1.6 billion in January-June 2024. In H1 2024 the export of services amounted to $4.4 billion, with import at $2.8 billion.
In January-June 2024 Belarus’ foreign trade in merchandise and services increased by 3.2% year-on-year to $47.7 billion.
