The specifics of the work of regional media and the promotion of content in the digital environment were discussed in Ushachi

The specifics of the work of regional media, the interaction of journalists with the expert community, the promotion of content in the digital environment and the implementation of Decree No 630 were discussed at the off-site creative meeting of the editors-in-chief of the regional media in Ushachi.

Presidential Aide and Inspector for the Vitebsk Region Sergei Levkovich stressed the special role of the media in ensuring the information sovereignty and security of the state:

"In the age of high-tech development, the information field is being filled at an incredible pace. The term "information war" has come into our everyday life. In many countries, the media are used as a weapon, unfortunately, quite effective. Our task is to competently present truthful information in favor of people, society and the state. The role of the media at the media forum was also emphasized by the President, noting that the future of the country depends on journalists, among other things. The media today are part of the state's security system.

The head of the main department of ideological work and youth affairs of the regional executive committee Marina Novitskaya noted that the Ushachi district was not accidentally chosen for the meeting of the regional media. The district newspaper "Patriot" has one of the highest subscriptions in the republic in terms of population density - 225 copies per thousand inhabitants. Every fourth person in the Ushach region subscribes to it, the newspaper is read in every family.

– The information space is changing dynamically. Time constantly requires new approaches from the media. The number of information flows and means of their expression is growing, which means that the need for competent selection and interpretation of events and facts, in the analysis of their causes and possible consequences is also increasing.

We live in a competitive environment: hundreds of periodicals and TV channels are available to consumers. That is why regional media develop and promote their own high-quality content," the chief ideologist of the region concluded.

A general positive assessment of the dynamics of the development of regional media in the Vitebsk region was given by an expert in design and layout, senior lecturer of the Department of Periodical Press and Web Journalism of the Belarusian State University Dmitry Sinyavsky, who prepares analytics in his field for the Ministry of Information.

Editors-in-chief of regional media shared with colleagues their best practices and experience in certain areas. Thus, the editor-in-chief of the district newspaper "Voice of Rossonshchina" Elena Kirillova spoke about the creation and promotion of the district telegram channel. Now the newspaper has more than 1.7 thousand subscribers in the messenger, despite the fact that the population of the region is a little more than 8 thousand inhabitants. The editor-in-chief of the district newspaper "Vestnik Glubochchyny" Andrey Pankrat conducted an analysis and spoke about the work of journalists with problematic and critical materials, interaction with local authorities to solve acute issues that are raised on the pages of regional media.

Diana Kurilo, editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Vitbichi", shared her experience of cooperation with the expert community - analysts, deputies, representatives of civil society, heads of enterprises and organizations.
