Reconstruction and overhaul of the P46 highway continues

Reconstruction and overhaul of the highway P46 Lepel – Polotsk – border of the Russian Federation (Yukhovichi) continues.


The branch of DSU No2 of JSC "DST No1, Vitebsk" is actively involved in this work. Also this season, the team of Polotsk road workers contributed to the improvement of the territories of a number of settlements - they worked in Polotsk, Novopolotsk, and Lepel, and also worked on the repair of the P20 road... Competent organization of the team's activities allows you to maintain the necessary pace.

The construction season is rhythmic

What was important to foresee?

"Before the construction season, when work with asphalt concrete begins, it was necessary to prepare materials," says Leonid Baturo, director of DSU No2. "This was done during January-March. For example, in order to prevent interruptions in the process of road works, they used credit funds and purchased crushed granite, which is especially in demand with the onset of spring and summer, because construction is going on throughout the republic. We also prepared and repaired the machinery and equipment of our asphalt concrete plant (asphalt concrete plant) in a timely manner.

At the asphalt plant

Thanks to the work carried out for the future, the rhythmic operation of the asphalt plant is ensured, where two plants for the production of mixtures operate - from 7 am to 7-8 pm. There is no need to sweep "off the wheels". And they are produced by about 30 brands, because the mixture provided for by the project is supplied to each facility. Covering its own need for asphalt concrete, it supplies it to colleagues from other divisions of "DST No1, Vitebsk", who also work on the P46 road, and sells it to the nearest road maintenance departments of RUE "Vitebskavtodor".

For strength and durability

On the day when we talked with Sergey Finogeev, the head of section No6 of the branch of DST No2 of DST No1, Vitebsk, the personnel of his department reached the finish line in laying the top layer of asphalt concrete pavement on the P46 road at the 57-58th km mark, in the area of the gas station and the roadside café "Jungle".

"We use a mixture with RBV-G (granulated rubber-bitumen binder), which is produced at our asphalt mixing plant. Its use allows you to increase the strength of the pavement on roads with increased traffic load and, accordingly, its durability," explains Sergey Alexandrovich, a road specialist with 18 years of experience.

Calling the work of road workers hot, you cannot be mistaken: the temperature of the mixture that is delivered to the site is about +160-170 ° C. And taking into account the intensity of work, hot weather, it is really hot here! On the road, we counted two asphalt pavers, five rollers that compacted asphalt concrete, two tractors cleaning the pavement. Every now and then, dump trucks with a carrying capacity of 20 to 35 tons brought new "portions" of the mixture.

The team of the site includes both beginners and experienced people, whose professionalism has been tested more than once at critical facilities. Sergey Finogeev names among them foreman Alexander Denisov, masters Andrei Staminok, Nikolai Shilyonok.

"On the republican highway, the work is more responsible, but it is easier to perform than at city facilities - there is traffic, pedestrians, curbs, cars are parked in the yards, and it is more difficult for the asphalt paver to pass... And here we are going in a straight line, the main thing is to maintain evenness," explains the head of the section. — Each task has its own specifics.


Components of success

The result of the team's work depends on both human resources and technical support.

Specialists of working specialties in management are in demand, these are machine operators, loader operators, excavator operators. And those who are ready to work responsibly have every opportunity to earn a decent salary. The management of DST No1 is interested in preserving teams and encourages professionals, helps to strengthen the material and technical base. For example, for the current construction season, DSU No2 has replenished its machine park with a truck crane, a dump truck, two rollers for soil and asphalt concrete.

The staff of DSU No2 lent its shoulder in the improvement of the territory of Polotsk in preparation for the Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia: they laid an asphalt concrete mixture on the sections of Streletskaya, Nizhne-Pokrovskaya, Lenin, Petrus Brovka streets, Zamkovoy passage, as well as in Novopolotsk.

The work continues, and together with the director of DSU No2 Leonid Baturo, we wish our road workers strength, endurance and health in order to complete all the tasks successfully.
