In the Vitebsk region, "Schools of Peace" participate in the competition "Best Peacekeeping Project"

As reported in the regional branch of the Belarusian Peace Foundation, applications for participation in the project were received from “Schools of Peace” (there are 14 of them in the region) and educational institutions that are just entering the struggle for conferring this honorary title. Educational institutions put forward creative proposals aimed at preserving historical memory, developing national culture and folk art. Young peacekeepers collect unique archival documents, make presentations about relatives who fought, stand watch at Great Patriotic War memorials, hold meetings with veterans and child prisoners, and care for the mass graves of liberating soldiers. This activity forms the basis for the creation of competitive projects. One of these days the results of the regional stage of the competition will be summed up.

Raising the younger generation is only one of the areas of work of the regional branch of the Peace Foundation. Peacekeepers show war and labor veterans with special attention and care.

According to the chairman of the board of the regional branch of the Peace Foundation, Tatyana Tumanova , as a result of the enormous work done as part of the implementation of the republican charity event “With all my heart,” six specialized wards were opened in four central district hospitals - Braslav, Sennen, Novopolotsk, Dubrovenskaya. For cozy rooms, televisions, refrigerators, hospital metal two-section beds, and cabinets with swing doors were purchased. About 22 thousand rubles were spent for these purposes alone.

Elderly patients of nursing hospitals received gift food sets, the fund also helped to strengthen the material and technical base of the regional health care centers - Beshenkovichi, Dokshitsy, Ushachi, Sharkovshchinsky districts, Vitebsk (Pervomaisky district).

Combat veterans from the Chashniksky district, as well as mothers of soldiers who died in peacetime from the Dokshitsy district, did not remain forgotten - gift food sets were purchased for them.

Thanks to funding from the Peace Foundation, a design project for a classroom for the spiritual and moral education of children and youth was developed at the Polotsk Cadet School, a regional resource center “Patriot” was opened in secondary school No. 1 of Novolukomlya, and a
play complex appeared in kindergarten No. 2 “Praleska” in the town of Liozno. , at the Orthodox Church in the Ushachi district - a new Sunday class.

As part of the “Our Children” campaign, gifts from the Peace Foundation for the New Year holidays were received by pupils of the Vitebsk Children's Home, family-type orphanages, orphans and children from large and low-income families in the Lepel and Rossony districts. In total, about 50 thousand rubles were allocated to support veterans and children who find themselves in difficult life situations.

“All the activities of the fund are aimed at seeing and understanding with the heart where the regional organization’s help is especially needed, and providing real assistance,” emphasized Tatyana Tumanova.
