Population

 According to the statistical department, as of January 1, 2007, the population of the Tolochin region made up 30.9 thousand people including the urban population – 11.3 thousand people and the rural population – 17.9 thousand people.

According to the population census of 1999, Belarusians accounted for 90.6% of the total population, Russians 7.1%, Ukrainians – 0.9%, other nationalities – 2.1%.
