Enterprises of Belarus' Industry Ministry increase output by over 4% in H1 2024

Enterprises affiliated with the Industry Ministry of Belarus posted a production growth of more than 4% in H1 2024, First Deputy Industry Minister Aleksandr Ogorodnikov said at a meeting of the board of the Industry Ministry to discuss the ministry's performance in January-June 2024, BelTA learned from the press service of the Industry Ministry. Aleksandr Ogorodnikov said that the Industry Ministry is on track to meet almost all the targets set by the government for the first half of this year. Thus, in January - June, enterprises of the Industry Ministry manufactured products worth more than Br15.8 billion, up by more than 4% in comparable prices year-on-year. In addition, targets related to the output in physical terms were over-fulfilled in the following product groups: elevators (Mogilevliftmash), articulated dump trucks (BelAZ), vehicles for transporting 10 or more people (MAZ, Belkommunmash), trucks (MAZ), cars ( BelGee), refrigerators/freezers and washing machines (Atlant). Aleksandr Ogorodnikov noted that in the first half of the year, a challenging task of achieving the planned inventory to the average monthly output ratio was fulfilled; the figure stood at 81.3%. According to preliminary estimates, the industry will operate with a net profit and profitability of about 8%. The participants of the meeting reviewed performance of heads of holding companies of the Industry Ministry in terms of output and efficiency of foreign economic activity. The general performance of the industry, including its foreign economic activity in H1 2024, was discussed by the board of about 150 people. Those were heads of enterprises affiliated with the Industry Ministry, the central office of the ministry, as well as representatives of a number of departments and organizations of the country. Before the start of the meeting, Director General of Minsk Motor Plant Aleksandr Botvinnik showed Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Parkhomchik and Industry Minister Aleksandr Yefimov an exposition of engines and special equipment made by the enterprise. Piotr Parkhomchik believes that enterprises of the Industry Ministry should pursue a more aggressive marketing policy and explore new points of growth. He also urged to ensure a comprehensive approach to interaction with all enterprises, regardless of their scale and output. He also believes that they need to ramp up their contribution to the overall performance of the industry.
