The Museum Room "Along the Roads of War" was opened at Secondary School No 5 of Vitebsk named after G. I. Bogomazov

In the secondary school No 5 of Vitebsk named after G. I. Bogomazov, the grand opening of the museum room "Roads of War" took place. The event was attended by representatives of authorities, public organizations, veterans of military transport aviation, soldiers-internationalists, relatives of the Hero of the Soviet Union, Honorary Citizen of Vitebsk Grigory Bogomazov, whose name is given to secondary school No 5.

The museum room has more than 70 exhibits of the main fund, which are presented in six expositions. They reflect both the difficult trials that fell to the lot of our people, including Vitebsk residents, during the Great Patriotic War, and the heroism of the defenders of the Fatherland.

One of the museum expositions is dedicated to the military pilot, participant in the Great Patriotic War, commander of the 339th Military Transport Aviation Regiment (from 1958 to 1960) Grigory Bogomazov. In the post-war period, the regiment was stationed in Vitebsk.

After the opening of the museum room, a solemn event was held dedicated to the beginning of the month of civic and patriotic education.

Speaking to the audience, the head of the administration of the Oktyabrsky district, Vladimir Belevich, stressed the importance of preserving the historical truth, especially in our days, when the West forgets that it was the Soviet people, it was the Red Army that saved the world from fascism. It is also important to remember this because in a number of countries the Nazis are already openly speaking, trying to glorify the war criminals of Nazi Germany. Patriotic education of our youth is more relevant than ever. Our people must not lose the eternal struggle for the minds of people, especially young people, in the clash of different ideologies. And he won't lose.
