Interaction of educational institutions and public associations of the district was discussed at a meeting of the Polotsk District Executive Committee
The interaction of educational institutions and public associations of the district on the implementation of the Program of Patriotic Education of the Population of the Republic of Belarus for 2022-2025 (hereinafter referred to as the Program) was discussed at a meeting of the Polotsk District Executive Committee.
The presidium under the leadership of the chairman of the district executive committee Igor Markovich also included Svetlana Odintsova and Alexander Stoma, deputies of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly; Dmitry Khoma, Head of the Main Department for Education of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee; Veronika Gudkova, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union.
The main speaker was Irina Drozdova, head of the education department of the district executive committee. Co-reports were presented by the heads of district organizations of public associations Tatyana Akimova (Patriots of Belarus), Galina Muravey (Belarusian Public Association of Veterans), Anna Serko (Belarusian Republican Youth Union), Natalia Efremova (Belarusian Women's Union).
The speakers were tasked not only to talk about cooperation, but to identify issues that require attention, to discuss the potential available in the region and not yet used.Among the tasks outlined by Irina Drozdova are to increase the media literacy of teachers in order to popularize the activities of public organizations in the media and social networks, to maximize the involvement of working youth in public associations, to provide opportunities for personal and professional growth. In order to know and take into account the opinion of students, school administrations should make greater use of interaction with student self-government bodies. Within the framework of the "School of Active Citizen" project, representatives of public associations should be invited to meetings with students and their parents more often.
"According to the results of the survey, 95% of parents have a positive attitude towards their children being members of public associations," said Irina Afanasyevna. But it is necessary to make the most of the potential of the parents themselves, involving them in participation in actions, competitions, and projects. After all, parental example is one of the most effective methods of education." A new positive experience of interaction with parents is the project "Union of Reliable Fathers" of Secondary School No1, the club of fathers in Secondary School No10 named after V.M. Azin.At the meeting, it was said that it is necessary to introduce modern forms of work that are interesting to the current generation, that the activities of public associations should become more adapted to the interests of young people.
Along with the spiritual and moral direction of the Program, civic-patriotic andhistorical-cultural activities remain a priority. In 2024, the Polotsk regional organization of the Belarusian Unionof Veterans of the War in Afghanistan, together with educational institutions, carried out large-scale work withinthe framework of the project "Time chose us": memorial plaques to internationalist soldiers were installed in schools No. 9, 11, 14.
As part of the implementation of the Program of Patriotic Education of the Population in the district, purposeful work is carried out with students and their families. However, formal participation in events should be excluded. It is necessary to work not for the sake of complying with plans and reporting, but to achieve real results in order to form a spirit of patriotism among people.
Proposals were also made by the chairman of the district executive committee and members of the presidium: to usesocial networks more widely for feedback from the population; to involve not only students butalso teachers in public associations, to actively invite representatives of public organizations to educational institutions, including on the sixth school day; to use the sites of organizations and enterprises in the region; to make greater use of the tourist potential of the new material and technical base of the Polotsk CadetSchool; to study and implement the experience of colleagues from other regions of Belarus and Russia.
