In the Vitebsk region, there are more than 300 thousand rubles for the fight against invasive plants this year.
In the
Vitebsk region, more than 300 thousand rubles have been allocated from the
budget for the current year to combat invasive plants - Sosnovsky's hogweed and
Canadian goldenrod.
A headache for business executives and environmentalists is caused by the seizure of new areas by hogweed. Despite the measures taken (the use of herbicides, plowing, mowing), the contaminated land has grown by four hectares and amounts to more than 600 hectares. Half of the contaminated land is for agricultural purposes.
Another week - and hogweed will grow, environmentalists say. It is necessary to take measures in time to prevent its spread, otherwise even herbicides will not help. Based on the results of the inspections, land users were issued 101 prescriptions for hogweed and 48 for goldenrod. A fine is imposed for non-compliance with the requirements.
Last year, ecologists of the city district inspectorate brought to administrative responsibility 17 officials who paid 5.6 thousand rubles in the form of a fine.
