In the Vitebsk region, forensic experts helped to solve the theft from a country house by one drop of blood
The crime was committed in a horticultural association near Novolukoml. A previously convicted man climbed into a country house through a window. Having committed theft and covering his tracks, an experienced repeat offender did everything to avoid being found.
A specialist from the Lepel interdistrict Department of the State Committee of Forensic Examinations, who went to the scene as part of the investigative task force, found a small spot similar to blood at the site of penetration.
The trace was seized and sent to the department of the State Committee of Forensic Examinations in the Vitebsk region for research.
A forensic biological examination confirmed that it was indeed blood, and a forensic genetic examination established who it belonged to. The suspect in the theft turned out to be a 51-year-old local resident.
The police detained him. The man did not deny it and admitted everything.
The court sentenced him to three months of arrest. The verdict has entered into force.
