“For us, this is a cutting-edge project, the first in Belarus,” Rustam Khaidarov emphasized, noting the high level of UNICEF’s partnership with the leadership of the Vitebsk region and the focus on expanding cooperation.

During the meeting, the results of work in 2023 in various areas supported by UNICEF were discussed. One of the most relevant is the “Family for Every Child” program. Its goal is to return children with disabilities and developmental disabilities who are in boarding schools to their biological parents, or to find them adoptive guardians. That is, the project is based on the idea of ​​deinstitutionalization - creating conditions so that children live in families, and not in boarding schools and orphanages.
